Hello,

Quick question. Is the BeoSound stage always on like a Sonos speaker?

I’m considering putting one in the bedroom with a Oled tv but mainly so I can play music from my phone without having to power on any devices. This is easy with Sonos and I have a few around the house.

I’m otherwise considering the Sonos arc as it is always on.

BeoVision Eclipse Gen 2 55", BeoPlay V1-40,

Yeah, all NL speakers are always "on". Stage is always ready to instantly play music. No need to touch the speaker itself or use a remote.

Looks nice but not the color I’m looking for primarily but might change. My bedroom is all warm colors so. But also it has to match a tv.

So much to consider 😂

Excellent! Just what I want.

And probably it works well pairing Sonos and BeoSound over AirPlay for tandem playback when I have parties and need music in my whole house :).

Yes. I used my Stage only for music. Right now for my bedroom, I have a Core so that I can listen to music without turning on the. projector. The audio from the LG projector is connected to the Core. The. Stage. can do the same thing when you use AirPlay 2 - it won't turn on the TV. The Stage is pretty good as a music player.

I used to have a whole house with Sonos so I know how they sound. You won't be disappointed with the Stage.

B&O in my life 😊:

  • Beolab 8002 + Beolab 2 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Office)
  • Beolab 6000 + Beolab 11 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Bedroom)
  • Beoplay A9 Mk2 (Living Room)
  • Beosound 1 with wireless dock (Portable)
  • Beosound Balance (Dining)
  • Beoplay H95 (Focused listening, travel)
  • Beoplay H9 (3rd gen) (retired)
  • Beoplay P6 (Portable)
  • Beotime wall clock (hallway entrance)
  • BMW X5 50i with B&O Audio Package (Commute/drive)

When I had the stage in the bedroom on a shelf, the white status LED is pretty annoying and very bright! Maby there is a way to switch it off, but be prepared to have some black tape handy :-)

The lights can be switched off now!

Today I had new software for my Stage (updating from 1.8.xx to 2.0.xx). Anyone got any info on changes apart from the improved multiroom?

Good to know! Thanks.

Weird they can’t dim the lights a bit. Maybe they will incorporate that later on.

As a fun trivia, when Apple released their first flat iMac, the iMac G5, they had a big white led light built into it that would light up and breathe (dim light up and down) to indicate it was sleeping.

This light was very bright too and would disturb so many students in their dorms that Apple rewrote the firmware to use the monitors ambient light sensor to adjust the light levels to the rooms brightness level. This means that in a dark room the pulsating light would breathe with less brightness than in a lit room. Very clever and very typical Apple :)
