I need help in determining what it takes to run in France my Beogram 2404 turntable that was purchased in the US.
I happen to have the model 2404 turntable but I suspect this applies to all B&O turntables produced in the 70s for the US market. Anyway, I purchased my turntable new in the United States in approximately 1975. Recently, I brought it with me when moving to France. I do not have the original manual but I recently downloaded a copy of a manual, date of publication unknown.
Concerning voltage, the manual states,
“As supplied from the factory, the Beogram 2404 is switched for operation from 180 - 265 volts, 50-60 Hz. Switching to 110 volts can be done by making a wiring change inside the record player. Leave this to your dealer.”
I wonder if it can be internally switched from 110v over to 180 - 265v? Is that a DIY kind of thing? Would contacting a B&O dealer be helpful? The only thing I’m certain of is that I know almost nothing about electricity. Thanks for any advice.
