With my BV 5 I had many happy years using a FIRE-TV (flat square one, not newer cube one) with KODI. FIRE-TV has the catch-up channels you want but adding KODI means that if any of those are no longer supported by FIRE-TV KODI can be updated to have them. You don’t need an Amazon Account to use it. I did have a FIRESTICK initially, but I wanted to control via a PUC and my Be04 so, although it is possible with the FIRESTICK it isn’t as easy as the FIRE-TV. You could probably get used one fairly cheap and it also has the advantage of a Micro SD slot for extra storage. If you don’t want Beo4 control or extra storage, you’ll be able to pick up a FIRESTICK really cheap. Just make sure you go for the newest you can afford. I’m still using mine on my Beosystem 3 and it is still controlled by Beo4. I just had to re-earn codes from a PUC on there already.
I used the PUC controller to control the FIRE-TV by adding a FLIRC USB dongle. I chose a PUC source already in the TV, say Humax FOX T2, and plugged the FLIRC into a laptop and learned the codes from the PUC that were also on the FIRE-TV remote. Play, stop, pause, arrow up/down etc. Then when I plugged the FLIRC into the FIRE-TV I can control it with my Beo4.
As you do not have HDMI you’ll need a converter I used the combination below but there are ones now available that go HDMI in to scart out so just need the one adapter.

Another quick thought! Can't you instal KODI on your XBox? - The old name to KODI was XBMC (XBox Media Center) as it was initially made for the XBox. Kodi is free and you can then get all the catch up programmes on there for no outlay! KODI is brilliant and kept up to date. It looks like it may be on the XBox App Store.
Once KODI is installed you need to instal the iPlayer, ITV, Ch4 and Ch5 Catch -Up apps. Ignore the fact it says you need a tuner as you will be streaming Catch-Up TV.
And if you wanted to contriol it with your Beo4 you could still buy the FLIRC and it works with XBox in the same way it would in my answer above.

Thanks to everyone for replying. I have purchased a cheap Android TV box for now, family will have to just use the crappy remote that comes with it. When I get back I will pursue the Fire TV option as Beo 4/Beo 5 functionality would be better for me.

It's just a thought and depends on how much you like the Android Box you have bought, but it is very likely to be able to be controlled by a Beo4/5 and the FLIRC dongle, if if has a USB port. The FLIRC is seen as a USB keboard when plugged in and you record the key presses into the dongle (connected to a laptop) before plugging it in. So any built in PUC that has the same number of buttons(or more) as the remote for the Android Box can be learned and then make it Beo4/5 friendly.
You might not need to buy anthing else if the box does everything you need. Plus, if you wanted to, you can most likely install KODI as it will probably be in the Play Store on the box.
