Hello,

I am very new to the beograms and vinyl in general, but I am trying to acquire a beogram 5500.

I understand that other equipment is needed for the full set-up.

I also did other listings for a b&o 6500 amplifer/receiver, 6500 master control panel, beovox CX-100 speakers. Would buying these three items complete the set up?

Or, would the 6500 series not work with the beogram 5500?

Second, if I had a b&o 5500 stereo, and speakers would that complete the set up as well?

Thanks so much!

I would go for a complete 5500 system for two reasons:

1. The aluminium finish will be the same on all components (unless you bought all in white). A Beogram 5500 has brushed aluminium (or white) whereas a BeoMaster 6500 has polished aluminium (or white).

2. From memory the Beogram 5500 needs a BeoMaster with a built-in RIAA pre-amp. I think that as standard from the factory the BM5500 will have one, but the BM6500 won’t (in the 6500 series the RIAA pre-amp is in the BG6500 as standard).
