I have buy a beolit 17. The sound is very good  and full. But when the speaker is on , there is a continuous humming/white noise.  When i listen relaxing music/jazz/classical music at the evening and the speaker is close to me, i found it irritant. The humming  is not more loud when the volume is higher. Is this a defect in my speaker?

Your beolit is likely defective. None of the B&O multiroom speakers I have any hiss I can hear at any volume level. The power supply could be damaged or defective.

B&O in my life 😊:

  • Beolab 8002 + Beolab 2 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Office)
  • Beolab 6000 + Beolab 11 + Beosound Core with Essence Remote (Bedroom)
  • Beoplay A9 Mk2 (Living Room)
  • Beosound 1 with wireless dock (Portable)
  • Beosound Balance (Dining)
  • Beoplay H95 (Focused listening, travel)
  • Beoplay H9 (3rd gen) (retired)
  • Beoplay P6 (Portable)
  • Beotime wall clock (hallway entrance)
  • BMW X5 50i with B&O Audio Package (Commute/drive)

I have the same humming / white noise with the beolit 17 audible at low volume or when you pause the music, even if there is no phone connected to it.

It almost stops once you set the volume to 0, but once you go to 1 it will be the same till max volume.

Maybe someone else with beolit 17 can confirm if this humming is “normal”?

@cedricm did you return the speaker or sent it to be checked?
