Hi guys,
A few years ago I invested a lot of money for my system which is as follows :-
Beovision 11 television, beosound 5, Beomaster 5, beolab 4000 speakers, beolink converter NL/ML, Beo4 remote control.
Time has come for a change.
I have bought the new Sony A9JU 65” television and I want to change the whole of my B&O music system. In other words it all has to go even though it is in perfect condition and devoid of any scratches. It’s as good as the day it was installed.
I know you are passionate about B&O but I have lost that passion as I find it all a nightmare to navigate. Plus B&O does not support the app with which I use to download music. The shop that I originally bought it from has long since gone but one of the guys there found a backdoor way of downloading music.
i used to have an iMac at that time which is how I downloaded music. But I do not use it anymore and am going to change to a Windows computer. I still have the IMac boxed up.
My question is in the title of this email. How can I retrieve all the music that is stored in my Beomaster 5
Once I have done that I will put it all up for sale.
Thanks for your help.
i don’t know if it makes a difference but I live in the UK as some countries equipment may be different.
Cheers guys
Sorry to hear that you have lost your passion for the B&O gear.
Would be nice to hear from you…after the change that you plan.
If you miss something etc etc.
(I must say, that - if you find the setup hard to navigate - the cause could be an insufficient configuration respectively that your dealer did not take the time to show you all. Furthermore a connected mediaplayer like the AppleTV HD would give you several options of music apps).
The harddrive of your BM5 should be recognized in your home network - meaning it will be visible as a drive from your computer (PC or MAC).
After seeing it there, you can easily copy the files onto the computer (or to an attached USB harddrive there). After that you can remove the files from the BM5 disc.
P.S. Did you know that you can access - and play - the files on the BM5 directly on the BV11?
In the Home Media section you can connect to the BM5 and do the searching from there.
MM
There is a tv - and there is a BV
I just realized that you had some former posts to which I had commented.
Living in the UK (Oxford) it should be possible for you to connect to a good dealer or even to a fellow beoworlder, who could help you with the configuration of you current setup.
That is…..if you are not already determined to get rid of the B&O stuff!
(I am still interested to hear about how you/your friend intends to connect the BL4000 to the new tv….and how the result is).
