When I insert a DVD/CD into the disc drive, a message is displayed which alternates between “no disc” and “disc cannot be played”. The regional settings are correct. Any suggestions for resolving this? Thanks (Beo 7-40 Mark 4)

Hi Twiggy,

I have a Beovision 7-40, and after 3 years of playing Region 4 discs without problem, I now get an error message saying "Incompatible disc region number-can't play disc".

Somehow, the player has stopped recognizing Region 4 discs, but it plays Region 2 discs without a problem.(It also plays CD's without a problem).

I'm 80 miles from the B&O service centre,so not easy to get it fixed.

I'm led to believe that a "special tool" which is needed to fix the problem can be acessed by the service agent(?)

Even though you say the regional settings are correct, maybe the player is doing it's own thing. I'm not a technician, but it seems weird that it's not playing CD's either. Maybe the problem is in the laser?

Regards

Noel.
