With the bvis 10, can you update the software yourself, or is this done by a bang and olufsen engineer? I have an issue with sound on only if I try to call source from the main room, I have check everything  else and the only other thing to try is a software upgrade

No, sadly this is a manual update - by a dealer or service engineer. I can't remember wether it uses one of the IR PUCS sockets, or the ML connection, but it's definitely not like the BV11 etc.

The B&O service Tool to update the TV connects to PUC 1

Hi kai

Could you explain a bit more what works and what not?

Do you mean that you have no sound (over MasterLink) in the linkroom(s)?

Which sources are you trying to listen to in the other room?

I am not sure, that this has anything to do with a sw update issue.

What ‘everything’ did you check?

Hi mm

This was used bvis 10 we bought from ebay, which is in the link room, nothing is connected to the apart from masterlink and aerial, tv is in option 6. What was happening is when pressed sat this should bring up the sat from the main tv, which all we managed to get was a snowy picture. CD and radio would work, I checked the junction box, and noticed that one of the earth's wires was broken, I have redone the connection, plugged the cable back in now it will not respond to the masterlink. Possible there is an issue with ml module in tv which I believe also houses the tuner ?

Did you power off all ML-products before changing all the cables etc?

What are the other products in your setup and what tv is the BV 10 replacing?

Playing CD and Radio show that the MasterLink works.

! There must be an audiomaster in the setup then !

You won’t get any picture from the main tv to the linked tv, unless you also have the arial routed through the master-tv. MasterLink is only sound and control.

The picture is distributed through the arial and the linktv must be tuned for the linkfrequency.

(This is described in the user manuals of the BV’ from that generation).

Please describe the entire setup (which tv in the main room etc).

It can be very hard to give advice, if you don’t know exact which components you have, and how they are connected.

There is a tv - and there is a BV

I think this is the problem. It appear to be a common miss-conception that ML carries both sound and video. I wonder if the picture received that way (over a coax) is good enough by todays standards....

Hi mm

Yes I do know that the picture is over coax . The systems consists of bvis 9-50 with  dvd and cable box connected all scart connection as well as a beosound 9000, main tv in option 2 link tvs in option 6, all the other tvs in the system are working fine, is just this new one we got from ebay, nothing is connected  to the bvis 10, apart from ml, this did work for a couple of, I disconnected all the tvs re did the ml connection as there was an earth wire broken reconnected tvs and plugged in ml, now it does not work, what I was going to do, is try another tv in that location if ml works then I know it's the tv

I assume it`s about same/similiar problem and in the same setup as in your other thread:

https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/43572.aspx

In this case I don`t think an update will help.

It`s not only the picture, sound will also be distributed via coax - in mono - if you select AV - video source, the sound will be stereo via ML.

Hi Stephan

That's my fault sorry I have posted this twice, yes you are correct I dont think an update will help, the ml in that tv is not working at all now, so I will bring up the old bvis 7-32 plug it into the masterlink and if it works then I know the bvis 10 must haveva faulty ml module

Do you imply that you have no stable in the linkroom(s)?

Which sources would you say you are attempting to tune in to in the other room?
