hey. I just got into vintage vinyl and a begram rx got me started. It also got me interested in other vintage pieces. After a lot of consideration and experimentation. I decided I wanted a Beomaster 5000 or 5500. Ecause they have a preamp line. I’m also not sure what the line out connection is for. What is the correct way to use the 5000 as a preamp running into a power amp? It’s driving me crazy trying to figure it out. I even have a beocenter 7700 that I tried to do that and there was no sound when connected to the preamp line. Hopefully someone knows! It can’t be that complicated. Thanks
Hi Billhnj,
Welcome to Beoworld! The Beomaster 5000 and 5500 should both have pre-out sockets (RCA/phono) fitted which can be used to give a volume-controlled output to an external power amp (ie. with volume controlled from the B&O remote).
The Line In/Out connection is intended for an external graphic equialiser, as this allows you to take a full line level signal (not volume regulated) and process this with effects (or a DSP processor if you wish to update your system!) and then pass the modified sound back into the Beomaster.

Hi ! it's an old post but i have a question about that ! Is it correct to plug a turntable, a chromecast audio and a TV analog out on a Beomaster 5000 and then plug a general pre out into the AUX input socket of a Beosound Ouverture ? If it is correct, can you tell me wich is the pre out socket on the Beomaster 5000 ?
Thanks !
Hi,
Please can you tell me which speakers you are using? I can then advise on the best way to connect everything!
