DVD2 with Avant 55

Hope someone can help!

Is there a way of using the DVD2 with the modern Avant 55? 

I cannot get any remote control to operate the DVD2 - it is connected via HDMI as there is of course no SCART sockets on the new Avant

I really hope there is a way round this!

Is it an MK1 or the MK2 version?

On the MK1 version based on BS4 there is a 9pin mini DIN AV in socket that can be used with a scart adapter.

This is not on the newer model

I may be wrong, but I don't think the mini DIN AV socket sends data to the connected device, so it wouldn't help in this usage case.
