I recently aquired various vintage B&O items, all non-working. So far some good results, but I've started on a Beomaster 2000 (type 2912), cosmetically beautiful and worth spending time on but it's totally dead !
I've taken it apart and found a 'blown' capacitor and fuse, they are both on board 2, C7 (2200uF 40V a large(ish) capacitor), and F1 (T-2A). I feel confident about replacing these components, but my concern is, are these failures likely to have caused complicated problems further down the line ? And in your opinion(s), is it worth pursuing ?
I was just hoping someone may have already experinced this and found the effort to be fruitless/worthwhile and could give a well educated answer !
Perhaps I should go ahead and replace these components and take it from there ? Tim
In case anyone read this with interest, the cap and fuse were replaced and all is OK - sounds beautiful, the Beomaster will live a bit longer !
