I'm very taken with the BL18's and was considering upgrading from my old trusty BL6000.

Problem is my local B&O store is has been closed for some time so its a bit difficult to road test them!

I would be grateful for peoples opinion if they own the 18's.

I'm aware they would sound better but in peoples opinions is it worth the upgrade?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I own BL 6000s a d BL 8002 and my neighbor across from me has a BL18. There is a huge difference between BL 18 and both BL 6000 and BL 8002s. Not even close IMHO.

Plumber, not to steer your inquiry too off course but, firstly, yes, I love my BL18s. They’re drop dead gorgeous and the clarity is outstanding. I love them.

That said... perhaps consider BL17 on stands... the low-end is unreal for the size. Far better than BL18. Yes, they’re not as pretty but many here feel they sound better than BL18 overall. Watch John from B&O Manchester’s review on them on YouTube.

Not sure how much aesthetics matters to you but if you’re open minded, perhaps consider BL17, too. But let’s be honest, you can’t go wrong either way!

I owned BL6000s for some years and upgraded them to BL3s about 8 years ago. The improvement was very noticeable. I then upgraded again to BL18s and the improvement was once again significant.

In short I would expect the 18s will blow you away after the 6000s.

I also absolutely adore the look of the BL18s (mine have oak fronts).

I only have one stereo pair of speakers connected to my Core at a time. Currently, my BL18 are in storage in their original packaging. I am currently using my BL17 connected to my Core and it works great.
