Hi there,

I replaced my old Panasonic plasma with a LG C9.

It worked nicely for some minutes, but then I got a black screen. Switched back to the old tv, black screen. My Beosystem 3 9606 was gone. The diagnosis I received was a dead FPGA chip in the PCB5 board.

B&O support told me to trash my BS3, as no spare parts are available, but I managed to find a donor equipment that had a power supply problem (also no fix for it from B&O).

Not believing that the new TV caused the issue, as other devices connected to the same HDMI port shows no problem, I tried it again. Stupid! Now I have to find another PCB5 board...

I'd like to ask if anyone has successfuly connected a Beosystem 3 9606 to a LG C9, so that I can confirm that there is no software/firmware compatibility issue, increasing the chances of this beeing a hardware problem on my side...

Do check if your home insurance cover electrical faults.

Mine did when my BS3 shorted, and I received a good clump of money Smile

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

For a few weeks  connected a BS3mk3 (with hdmi outputs) in combination with a GX65'. BS3 has 2 PUC's. One for switching on the GX and 1 PUC for controlling. Works well, not flawless (sometimes panel stays off or keeps on when shutting off the BS3). All controlled by a BR1.

Hi Dante, sad to hear this. I do have a C9 55inch connected to a BS3 type 7710 for some months. No issues until now!

The 7710 already has HDMI outputs, right?

My BS3 is MKI and has DVI-D outs, so I'm using an adapter.
