Hi guys!

I have an A6 that keeps crashing. It happens when i use the B&O app (which is always)

In the settings utility, under critical it says "DSP Error Level: Service Error"

The only thing that fixes it is ud i unplug the A6 from Mains. At first it happened once in a while nyt now it is virtually unusable.

Of course i have testet stuff and found out:

Reset does not help

Chromecast works until the DSP crashes.

If i reset it and play something and i join the music in any other room the other Rooms are silent but the app shows that they are joined.

If i play something in another room and joins the A6 the result is that the A6 is silent.

Earlier i reset the A6 i could use everything for a bit with the A6 as main room and then the A6 crashed and the whole house went silent.

If i use any other speaker as main the whole house works as expected except the A6.

I have had the A6 since april i think. The only thing new in this setup is an M3.

I have contacted the support and the wanted med to reset, tried that. And then reconnect all bluetooth devices which leads me to the conclusion that they have no idea what is wrong.

My thoughts were earlier that it could be the B&O app using the DSP for volume control. But if i play music on A6 and manually joins other rooms by button, not the app, the result are the same.

Any inputs?

Try and connect the A6 via Ethernet. That solved my A6s DSP problems playing Deezer with my M3 on wifi. Hoping for a future firmware fix. I’m on firmware 1.15.17474.

I don't have Ethernet in the room where the A6 is placed. Today i will try and move it to a room where Ethernet is present. Then i can see if that fixes the issue. But this is not a solution for me as the room i bought it for don't have ethernet. Do you use 2,4ghz or 5ghz? Could that be a thing?
I have static IP for all products.

I have suspected the firmware to be the issue. I saw another post about firmware issues a week ago regarding the Beosound 1.

I used to have my A6 connected to Ethernet over powerline adapters, since my WiFi used to be a bit shaky. Worked really good.

That is an alternative if your unable to install cat cable to where you have the A6.

The Play range (and Beosound 1) seem to require a quite solid WiFi. Had quite an few problems before I changed to accesspoints rather than relying on the WiFi in the cable modem. I now use Ubiquiti accesspoints.

Most of my problems have been with the A6. Apparently, they are still fixing wifi problems specific to the A6 in the fw. My M5 is ok/fine, only few problems. My new M3 is blazingly fast and reliable.

I also see the same error, but mine is always connected via ethernet (via a switch).

However, I did a FW update to 1.15.17640.17856519 at 18:34:59 and also did a SW update of the app on the iPhone and I have again a

DSP error level: Service error  at 18:43:37

With this device I also have some issues (it is streaming TuneIn through BLC to my ML environment). Quite often, random, is is quiet. The stream of radio is displayed in the app but it is silent on the ML devices. Sometimes changing the station of the favourites helps.

Sometimes starting the device will just flicker the white LED but not more.

I'm so sad, that this new devices are not reliable. The have good looking design and good sound, but the reliability is not what B&O is.

Any other ideas, what the error causes?

Strangely I had a WTF momment with my A6. Originally thought I had a problem with a Devolo WiFi extender getting to bite and clone to my network.

Saw the Bluetooth LED flashing amber and could not see the A6 on network or any of the beo apps available.

Solution appeared to be a reset but unlike original out of box setup, the A6 does not appear on iOS WiFi settings and select. Instead, it sneakily appeared when pressed on”add product” in the BeoApp. Works fine now.

Im assuming there was an update that has not gone to plan in the last few days?

It happens to me as well, DSP error each time when I just turn on device, does it affect for you sound quality as well ?

Can someone compare sound quality of A6 to A9, because right now I'm thinking to sell mine A6 and buy A9 ? I'm not satisfied with A6 sound quality, it's my the worst speaker at home.

Of course the A9 has a better sound than A6. It is much more expensive and larger too.

I didn't had any DSP error the last month.

I mean it's logic that A9 is much better, but my question was about to compare price to quality in both cases.

A6 is not cheap neither, but I was expecting a bit more from this unit !

My A6 kept coming up with this error (and “Player has stopped responding. Restarting player”) so I sent it back today. I got it refurbished from the Beoplay eBay page so returning it was easy but wish it wasn’t necessary.

Have ordered a brand new one from Peter Tyson now (was £200 more but it comes with a 2 year warranty + they’re a reputable shop so fixing it should hopefully be easy if I ever have any problems).

The funny thing was the refurbished A6 was in absolutely perfect condition and looked brand new. The description said it was an open-box customer return. There was 1 existing thing in the logs from November about the DSP error so I wonder if the previous owner had the same problem and just returned it straight away too.

Reactivating this post.

After the most recent firmware updates, this error reappeared a couple of times. Any suggestions how to solve?
