Hi Beoworlders,
Just got myself a MLGW and had a good bit of fun connecting all the kit up.
Now for the Philips Hue Hub. I have read posts (in particular from Beojeff, great write-up btw.) about the set-up, which I've tried and failed at.
A couple of questions. Does anyone have their MLGW controlling the new generation of Philips Hue hub? and if so, can they share their insight into how they got it to work.
Screen overlays. Is this feature available on the MLGW? or is it just the BLGW that has that functionality?
Thanks for reading.
Andrew
It's been a very long time since I've written code lines for Hue with MLGW. It's essential that you have the correct count of characters. As I recall, though, the newer Hue hub still worked with MLGW.The Hue functionality with BLGW is SO much better and easier. You don't have to mess with writing lines of code with the BLGW. It's all built into the driver. You even get a graphic color picker wheel.
Thanks for the reply. Gives me a bit of hope. So will perceiver and see if I can get it to work.
I also just got a MLGW and like to intergrade Philips Hue. Please keep me posted on your progress. I have not jet bought the Hue bridge and light bulbs. Kind regards, Edwin
A while back, Hue made some radical changes to their API. This came when they were trying to create room-specific scenes, or groups of room scenes. It messed everything up. In my opinion, this was a bad move by Hue and made the API less logical. The BLGW gets us past all of this frustration.
