Hi,

Has anyone successfully integrated a B&O product like a Beovision TV without a MasterLink/BeoLink gateway to be able to control them with a Beo4 or BeoRemote One, as well as control the TV from other products?

I've got all I need for this to work, except the software. The Beovision 11, my Hue lights and other stuff are all on the same network. It should be possible to emulate a MasterLink/BeoLink gateway using Home Assistant or some other Linux application on, for example, a Raspberry Pi. B&O's own hardware works very well, but it's expensive and seems pretty unnecessary now that the smart home tech has gone mainstream and become cheap.

Since the TV can be controlled by an app, it should be possible to use those commands in Home Assistant too, to control it and make automations.

Has this been done?

Yes there is an integration here: https://github.com/giachello/ha-beoplay

I am planning to rewrite it because it's a bit buggy, but it works well enough.

A rewrite is welcome to correct bugs and fill some gaps, but it does the job already. With some customization (no need to be a coder, I’m not, but just by understanding the logic of the custom files) you can even make it prettier like setting a static image when using a particular source that does not expose such metadata, I.e my Core optical in is connected to my Samsung TV, so when this port is in use I have a specific image to display for that, same when using a source linked to my BS Moment line-in, and, contrarily to the B&O app, it displays album cover when using AirPlay against B&O device.

Here a screenshot of my HA setup including several B&O kits playing different sources or having joined a multiroom group:

BS Moment, BS Core, BG 4002, BC 4500, BS1, BL18, BL19, BL8000 + RCV1, A6, M5, M3, A1, P6 (tks Botty), H5, TR1

Hi Giovanni - There is no Issues tab in the ha-beoplay Github project, how should I share questions, issues or request for enhancement?
