I'm currently restoring and recapping a Beomaster 4400. In the preamp and tone control circuits many of the coupling capacitors are rated 1uF 63V, 2.2 uF 63V and I'm wondering why the voltage ratings is that high for low level signals. As far as I can see in the schematic there are no high DC voltages present.Also noticed that in the preamp sections some 35V tantalum caps were uses instead of 63V aluminium electrolytic capacitors. Is the relatively high voltage rating just because B&O bough the 63V axial caps in bulk and would it be ok to replace with caps with slightly lower voltage rating? Or is there more to it?
