hello everyone.

i’ve tried to connect an apple tv into one of two hdmi port. it doesn’t work... i’ve already tried to reset the tv on factory setting and it still doesn’t work.

but i remember that my technician told me something to do when the hdmi doesn’t respond.

Any idea?

thank you in advance.

Hi 3enne

May I assume that you know that the used HDMI port has to be assigned to a command/a button on the Beo4 (done in the menu of the BV)?

Hello, thank you for replying.

of course, i did it by the link setting and i assigned in Av1 a dtv source, noone IR, A port hdmi and noone s/p-dif. so when i press dtv button on my beo4, the tv shows black screen.

With some beovisions, the internal tuner must be turned off to use “DTV” as a source with HDMI. Perhaps try the “TV” source.

Next I’d try another HDMI cable.

Maybe there is a resolution problem with the Apple TV.

Try using the remote to change video resolutions:

  • On Apple TV 4K or Apple TV (4th generation), hold Menu and Volume Down for 5 seconds, then release. Your Apple TV will switch to a new resolution every 20 seconds. Select OK to choose a resolution or Cancel to quit.
  • For Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation), hold Menu and Up for 5 seconds. Your Apple TV will switch to a new resolution every 20 seconds. Select OK to choose a resolution or Cancel to quit.

so. i’ve tried anythink you typed and unfortunately doesn’t work.

but

i’ve switched off, switched on and switched off again the dvb-hd, by service menù, and sometimes the hdmi port begin to broadcast correctly. so when i try to switch on the dvb-hd then the hdmi stops to transmit and i get only the dvb-hd transmission...

it seems like a conflict between the double tuner setup (tv tuner and dvb-hd) with the hdmi ports.

i have to decide what i get but i need both: dvb-hd and hdmi transmission!

so sad...

Note what I said about the DTV source being used for the internal tuner when it is enabled! You need to use another source, such as TV or DVD, for an HDMI input.

Hi 3enne,

It is a bit confusing without knowing what you have connected to your TV. Do you only have BV10 and AppleTV?

What you say above should work but I would try V.MEM instead of DTV Button

If you only have BV10 and AppleTV, I would test the setup by using the V.MEM button instead of DTV button (Because your TV has a DTV Tuner).

Set it as you say above and now when you press V.MEM the TV should switch to ATV. You will need to use the ATV remote to turn ATV on/off and control it. You need further connections if you want to control the ATV using the PUC controller.

The instructions will be different if you have other items connected to the TV.

something quite small but obvious: did the ATV4 been switched out of stdby?

if you programmed a PUC and use only a B&o remote, then press the green button on your remote.

hello and thank you for your help.

i have a beo10 with double tuner (tv tuner and dvb-hd on board). on the 2 hdmi ports i have linked the apple tv, on the B port and nothing else.

i have already tried to set the apple tv like DVD, DTV and also like V.MEM but nothing happens.

If i change the DVB SERVICE twice, under SERVICE MENU, then the apple tv appears by pressing TV button but the DVB-Hd transmission diseappers by pressing DTV button. checking out the cureent configuration is;

DVB SERVICE= DVB CONNECTED yes

TUNER SETUP/ TV TUNER OFF and DVB HD ON

so strange, i know... but that’s it!

p.s.: tv type number 9570

If ATV appears when pressing TV, then it looks like your connection settings are not correct. Can you upload a photo of the Connections Menu page.

To test, I would suggest turn TV Tuner on and DVB HD on. Go back into the connection menu. For AV1 make that TV. AV2 make that DTV. AV3 make that V.MEM and HDMI B (if ATV is still in B) or put it in HDMI A and choose A.

Now when you press TV you will either get black screen or interference pattern (unless your country still has a signal and you should get TV program) When you press DTV the DTV program should  show. When you press V.MEM the ATV should show, (provided it is turned on).

Let us know if this works

Maybe HDMI B is not working. Have you tried HDMI A.

so

if i swicth on both tv tuner and dvbhd then TV and DTV sources diseapear from AV CONNECTION. VMEM is available only like AV4.

i’ve tried to switch off both tuner and make AV1 tv source, AV2 dtv source and AV4 vmem source on B hdmi

so the screen is always black while i press TV, DTV or VMEM button.

if i switch on the tuner setup then the AV1 (tv) and AV2 (dtv) sources (under connection) diseapper. And i can watch interference pattern by pressing TV button; tv program by pressing DTV button and my hated black screen by pressing VMEM button...

-.-

Did you say in one answer, if  you connect a DVD to HDMI B you get a picture?

If tha is correct, this looks more and more like either  the HDMI cable is not working as per Millemissen suggestion or there is a problem with  the ATV.
