I have a BeoLab 8000 with a transformer just underneath the lower woofer (see picture). I have never seen a BeoLab 8000 with a transformer in that location.

To my knowledge it is not a Mark II. The serial numbers starts with 0941xxxx and 0942xxxx.
And I believe the Mark II start at 16992475.
I also noticed that the cone material is slightly different than that of the woofer in the regular Mark I.

Does anyone know what type this is?
And what overal, is different to the regular Mark I?

This is the first edition of the mark 1. There 4 different versions mark 1.

Just removing the old without placing new, isn’t sufficient for obtaining proper sound.

Thanks beobuddy.

What exactly do you mean with “just removing the old without placing new”?

Do you mean the foam?

How does this early version sound compared to others?

"You think we can slap some oak on this thing?"

Re: the foam, see: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/t/40510.aspx , particularly the photo at the end.

This one sounds quite similar to the other BeoLab 8000's I have had.
I was surprised by finding a transformer block underneath the lower woofer. And also to see the cone material looks more rigid.

When I am done, I can better compare.
