Hi ;-)

To make a long story short(er), I went looking for a pair of Beovox 901 to match an old Beomaster 901 heirloom.

I ended up with a great little pair of 901's, but during my search I found a completely brused and abused pair of Beovox 3000 (6210, I think) and - against my better judgement - I fell head over heals in love with them!

They will need a LOT of tlc, but all drivers seem to be working, as best I can tell - except for the one woofer. It had been replaced with an unoriginal woofer, but I managed to get a hold of the original one. And defective it was, no doubt about it.

When pushing the cone down lightly, it gets stuck. Also I can't get an Ohm reading, why I suspect the coil to be broken in one form or another.

There you have it - this is my starting point - and I have a very clear vision in my mind of a very, very steep hill ;-)

I have absolutely NO idea if the woofer can be repared or if a replacement even exists?

I would very much appreciate any help with the woofer issue, as it is kind of a deal breaker to the entire project - no woofer, no point in taking it any further.

Regards,

Jesper...

I doubt you will find a new old stock but it could be repairable - I have used a firm called Wilmslow audio in the past to repair some not quite so old woofers and they seem very good. In the UK though but I am sure there will be something similar where you are.

No, I'm becoming painfully aware of the challange, but at this point the investment is just around 20 euros including gas.

Dillen told me stay patient - a solution will reveil itself at some point (I hope!) ;-)
