....and please explain, what (you think) is an audiophile.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
So, and what keeps you from selling them - and getting ‘the best sound within the budget’.....whatever that might be (assuming you are one of those audiophiles).
Just curious!
beolab 90's must be terrible then because the tweeters are even higher up
How far away from them do you sit?
I really don't understand what you're trying to get at here, your definition of audiophile falls exactly within the range of a person who really likes and has the budget for beolab 50's
Like MM said, if you don't like them, why not sell them? Nothing wrong with that

Esax:I think a audiophile is a person who would find a way to get the best sound he or she like within the budget. I always liked b&o before for the sound and ease of use. One other thing about the beolab 50 I don’t like is the tweeter is not pointing down enough. Ewen when sitting on the sofa it is to high up. Beovision 7-55 MK1 red, Beolab 10 red. Beolab 50, all black. Beolab 17 broken ice. Beolab transmitter. Apple tv4 and apple express 2.
This thread makes little sense to me.
If you are echoing Michaels observation about some speakers not engaging in wide mode, then I get it , although I haven't observed the same with my speakers.
But invoking the term audiophile is just too vague, as it means too many things to different people.
In the bad sense of the word, yes audiophiles do like to tinker and tweak their setup to change the sound they perceive. And B&O has never been about that, which should not be news. There can be upside and downside in this approach.
Compared to most people I know I am an audiophile - in that I'm willing to spend a lot of time and money on getting away from some generic music setup. But to some nerdy types, I wouldn't be regarded as one. But even in my own head space, I cant complain about my 50s - theyre incredibly flexible and sound pretty damed good.
Will there be other more conventional speakers with a tonal quality I may find just as / more pleasing? Probably yes, for certain music and use cases. So while I dont regard the 50s as untouchable, they're very difficult to argue with sound reproduction wise. And having the tweeter at exactly listening head height? What? This I dont understand - the idea that pointing them up or down a few degrees would make much difference or be a better solution is a very weird thought.
