Is the RJ11 (male) to BT (male) lead used on this phone non standard? I am getting "no contact with base" using a new RJ11 (4 pin) lead after the original went missing.

Thanks for any help

To use my Beocom 6000s in UK I use a RJ11 to BT 'crossover' cable like this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Crossover-Telephone-Extension-Virgin-British-White/dp/B081F95RTY/

You need RJ11 pins 3 & 4 to go to BT plug 5 & 2 respectively, hence 'crossover'.

EDIT:  I just checked and this is the exact one that I purchased as it only needs the 2 wires:  https://smile.amazon.co.uk/dp/B079VG98CH/ref=pe_3187911_189395841_TE_3p_dp_1

EDIT2: And here's one that's in stock! Smilehttps://smile.amazon.co.uk/Extension-Crossover-Conductivity-Telephones-landline-white/dp/B07JC5B19J

Thanks for the explanation and links. "crossover" is not something I was familiar with. I bought "1m RJ11 to BT Cable Lead FAX Modem Telephone Phone Plug BT Socket 4 Pin Black". No good at all.
