Has to be the 11

The panels in the 14 and Horizon are very poor, to the point of being unwatchable for movies, especially when there are dark scenes

The presence of 4K on the 14/Horizon is utterly irrelevant in this context

Not sure - I swapped out my 14 for an Avant Mk 1 (i.e. not the NG / Android version)

I've been looking for a BV11-55 used - good luck, there are none around that I can find (from browsing online).

A dealer may well be able to source you one.

I think they still male superb 2nd TVs - I'm not bothered by UHD enough at this stage to bother swapping either of my BVs fro UHD versions.

I suspect you are fine with any BV11.

Totally agree with Sandyb. It is quite shocking actually how bad the screens are in the 14 and Horizon.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

I would like to nuance this a bit. To start I can confirm that the Horizon / BV14 panel is not good -even bad- with respect of dark scenes. On top of this the Android OS had also proven to be very bad and B&O unworthy.

Regarding the latter, in the end the many Android OS problems have been solved to a level that it is not reliable regarding the stability of the software. Every now and then the software crashes, a error message for an particular proces appears but it does not effect the operation of the TV. Most annoying is that sometimes the TV does not boot up correctly and you have to switch of the main power cord to get it rebooted.

Regarding the dark screen my experience is that it makes a lot of difference how the picture is tuned. I played around with the advanced settings of the screen a lot and finally found a balance in the detailing of dark scenes. I have to mention the back light levels also which can be found in the hidden menu of the Horizon / BV14.

It will never be as good as OLED or the older panel in the BV11 but it is not that bad as many have stated on the forum.

And apart from the dark scenes, the colours on the panel is very pleasant. I watch both my Horizon and Eclipse and the OLED is way better but the Horizon is still very good. I also have a V1 which has same panel as the BV11 (but without the glass cover which improves the picture of the 11). And that HD panel is getting out dated to my taste.

All in all, I would consider buying an additional BV14 and would not buy a BV11 because of the lack of 4K. Only thing is that (considering their flaws) I find the BV14 way overpriced, still in these days second hand. For the Horizon this is even more applicable as it is less a Beovision in design and materialisation.

The 4K avant is an alternative but I’m afraid of the video engine problems (overheating) and big reparation costs (or worse).

So my conclusion is that for a good investment in a TV for the coming years you best buy a Eclipse. For the looks and if no need for 4K, BV11 is your choice, for in between I would consider a BV14 over an Avant just for the potential problems with the Avant. And do not carve out the Horizon, a 48” could be just the right decision in the end...

And finally I would state in general that B&O has to reconsider their pricing strategy. The price is more premium then their products can deliver, simply due to the fact that the TV itself is an LG.

Take the Contour, compared with stage/LG combo, the extra charge for the B&O frame and stand is approx. €3k at this moment and the LG panel is getting cheaper. This is 75% premium price for a frame and stand...but this is off topic, sorry..

Just posted a lengthy reaction, now it is in review I hope...if not: to summarise the BV14 / Horizon is not that bad as stated in my opinion.

Hate the moderation review hassle of the forum app..!

Very important, too: The Beovision 11 uses B&O own system - which is easy and good.

Beware of Beovision 14 and Horizon with their horrible Android TV system. ;-)

Have the BV14-40 with oak grill since it came out. Granted. HUGE problems when released but since the 2 last firmware updates stable as a rock.

I'm not a cinephile.. and the set is for 70% of the time just playing music.

The 30% actively looking I have no complaints. Can the picture be better.. Probably yes. But for me the occasional movie (AppleTV4K) or regular TV (through settopbox) it's OK for me. Not using the build-in smart-tv functions as everything is done through the AppleTV4K.

B&O using the AndroidTV platform was not the smartest move. But that was an interim solution before the LG Oled deal I guess.

The only complain I DO have of the set is that when you turn it on you can do the dishes, take a bath, clean your car, have a 14day holiday and when you come back the set will be turned on. But that's about it.

Big Smile karel nice way to put the bootup time!

You can speed up things within the hidden menu. Did you find the quick start timers already through this menu? From top of mind: go into menu, last item, before selecting first press red button and then select and a hidden menu appears. You can also tweak back light dimming there and that will improve the dark screen capability

Yes.. I've done the speed-up thing through the hidden system menu. Otherwise the boot time would have been the length of a COVID lockdown.. twice.. And also turned off the light sensor to improve the dark screen thingy.

I own a Horizon. In fact the first one was changed within a few months for a new one due too many issues. Although the last updates have improved the experience a lot and solved a lot of serious bugs, the Android-software is still the weak spot of this TV. It remains (too) unstable. I noticed that it helps to shut off the power for a night when the instability issues (such as crashes) appear to often. Then everything is fine for a while. B&O gave up on the Android-TV’s. The TV is easy to use as the center of the AV-experience.

Looking for a second BV wondered what the view is regarding the selection above

I was deciding between the 11 and the 14 and in the end i chose the 14

On my last holiday, in Copenhagen, i was staying in a suite in a Hotel which had a BV10 in the bedroom and a BV11 in the lounge room, and at night with a few beers i got watching something just chilling, and I was so taken by how good the speakers were, in fact, i could never reproduce that sound on my Avant (at that stage) back home.

That’s what got me on the BV10/11/14 route.

When back at home, I was deciding what TV to get for the bedroom:

> Do i get a BV11, being that it’s the same video engine as my Avant

> Do i get a BV14 and have a newer 4K panel?

In the end I went with the 14.

I have no issues with it. I use it with an Apple TV 4K. I don’t use terrestrial aerial, I just use Netflix on the Apple TV and YouTube. The 4K content has been really good i think.
