Beosound moment jukebox problem.

Hi

I have a problem with my beosound moment jukebox Super AngrySuper AngrySuper Angry

It doesn’t react the screen is black. I have try a hardware reset but doesn’t work.

What can i do

Swap it under warranty.

Nothing else to do.

This is a hardware issue. Your dealer can resolve for you, but will need to send back to HQ. (I recently had this issue with our personal BeoSound Moment at home).

Finally after discharging the battery to 0% and replug it to the soundheart it works again!!!

How long did it take for the battery to discharge? did you just leave it off the soundheart, or did you power down the soundheart and leave the jukebox docked?

Hi Lyle, if I remember correctly you were involved in the development of the Moment. What are your thoughts on the Moodwheel / Gracenote issues? Do you think it is an easy fix or does it have something to do with licences (fees)?

I’m in contact with B&O support for more than a year now and they say it is still on their to do list but no time frame for an update.

Maybe you can speak a bit about this topic.

Unfortunately Lyle hasn't been on this forum in a couple of years.  Linkedin shows that mid-2018 his role at B&O changed from "UX Design & Concept Exploration" to "Brand Partnering" and is now working with automotive integration.  It seems like a terrible loss for B&O to make that change - he was obviously great with product design and development. I have two Moments myself and love their function as well as their stunning appearance.  

With B&O support being so dismal these days I can't say I expect them to ever solve this problem.

I wonder if there is an alternate source of data we could use to create our own solution.  It's possible that we could packet-sniff the Moment's requests and redirect to a different database, if such database exists.  (This past weekend I set up a Raspberry Pi to intercept and restream a TuneIn radio station that stopped working on all my B&O gear last year.  So interception is definitely  a possibility.)

You are right! If only we could make a workaround for the moodwheel/gracenote issue! I think there are still a few Moment believers out here, me included. Despite al the negative I still love my Moment and think is is hugely undervalued. I lack the technical knowledge for a proper workaround but would gladly pay a fee to gracenote / B&O for the Moment to work in full order again!

I too enjoy the Moment - the interface, the design, etc. I would really, really like to get the Moodwheel and PatternPlay to work again - these are great and unique features of the Moment.

I encounter an issue with my jukebox / tablet (again). Last night I left it off the Soundheart and the battery drained completely. After putting it back for recharge the tablet is in a bootup error, it starts with logo and then flashing / moving bootup but returns to logo perpetual. Let it redrain but no result, same issue.

Again PCB board dead? Any thoughts?

I love the product but hate the quality, problems over and over again. This will be the third replacement of the jukebox..

They didn’t test the hardware properly.

They used cheap and nasty parts prone to failure.

Update: my jukebox will be replaced for a new one for the second time now. Cost me €430.

The durability of the jukebox seems to be limited. My guess is this is why the Moment was EOL so soon.

I love this product so much that I decided to invest in it one more time. If you i to buying it second hand, be aware of this flaw.

My dealer has one in use for 7 years now without any problems but also confirmed he has clients that had to replace the jukebox twice already.

Hopefully I’m graced with a good unit this time.
