As mentioned in another thread I after couple of years been looking found a complete Beosystem 6500 which I made a round trip of 700km to pick-up just to avoid having it being shipped and with only one owner. Still got some mechanical issues to be fixed with the cassette deck and some overhaul of the rest of the components. First improvements was to replace the old and worn out rubber feet with new ones from https://beoparts.com/ which absolutely good quality and a good start Smile

So the Beomaster hums and for me it's the classic transformer hum that I hear and I hear it easily a 1 meter away from the system. The humming is only from the transformer so there is no humming from the connected speaker if system is powered on. I could then just say that this is hum is what expected from equipment from the end of the eighties but I'll rather think that the capacitors close by the transformed is partial part of the problem and would need to be replaced. Then again, I'm happy enthusiast of B&O equipment and likes to repair when possible but needs to guidance what to look for and rule out and find the issue.

You could try replacing the transformer rubber mounts.
The original mounts will have hardened by now, probably to the point of becoming brittle and crumbly.

Ha! That would great if it's that simply and not going to argue against that; did see various discussion about vibrations could sound like humming sounds but didn't think that it was the case here. But, as said not going to argue :-) Since I know that you have had your fair share of dealing with this system. Ordering the rubber mounts then this weekend.
