I have a 3300 turntable. LP records play but not the first 2 inches of the record. Anybody know what the issue is?

Thanks,

Neil

Sounds like it thinks you'r eplaying a 7-inch record.
Record size is determined by record weight. Check if the center tap feels spring-loaded.

Martin,

The centre is spring loaded. Turntable knows an LP on the deck as cartridge arm goes to the edge of the LP.

So it actually sets down correctly at the lead-in groove of a 12" LP?

Yes it sits down at the start of the LP but no sound comes out of the speakers until about 2” into the LP. System then plays normally. Has been like this ever since I moved house.

Appreciate any advice on what it could be.
