Hi, I have a Beocenter 2200 that sounds quite distorted and im having trouble with it tracking.

I have set the tracking weight to the recommended 1.5grams, however, this them has the stylus sitting "high" of the record, which is when it is most distorted.

If i am to give it a gentle tap, it the has the stylus arm "pop" down where it is then nearly or is resting on the record itself, but then removes the audio distortion.

What is the correct position for the stylus of the 2 pictures? (click on image to see both)

I believe the stylus point is still in good condition albeit hard to see.

Any support would be great.

Cheers, Jason

The cantelevers suspension has broken inside the cartridge.
Quite common. It will eventually break off completely.
You can have the cartridge rebuilt and re-tip'ed.
