Hi,

To my knowledge the Beolab 11 was only sold in a 4-5 years period (2010-2014).
Does it have any kind of weaknesses or bad design to be aware of if you gonna buy one now?

Was it upgraded in a Mark II version?

Have it been using since it came out with my BL8000’s. The BL11 does not product earthquakes but does add bass where needed to BL4/4000/6000/8000. Useless with BL Penta’s/1/9

I would say, that it DOES add a bit of bass to the Beolab 1's.
As some may have seen here on Beoworld, I bought a pair of BL 1's for my home-bar last year - and they have less bass than the Penta's - so last month I bought a BL 11. The BL 1's sound better with the sub, that just gives them that little extra.
However, it does not add anything to the Penta's (or the BL9's).

That's soooo strange. The BL1 & 11 have the same diameter for the woofer "16.5cm) but the BL1's amp is way more powerfull: 450w vs 200 w

But does the design have any weaknesses?. As an example the bas units in BL6000 MK1 gets weak over time, does the BL11 have similar issues or others?

All electronic fail over time.

The BL11 can fail too.

Unfortunately you mostly have to exchange the chassis completely....which may be expensive.

I can’t say how often that happens - also not if any particular serialnumber (indicates the age) is more affected than another.

I enjoy how my 2 BL11’s behave.

As an addition to the right speakers and proper set up (in particular if you use the bas management of a BSys4-based tv) they do a good job.

Don’t expect earthshaking bas - there are other speakers for that.

MM

There is a tv - and there is a BV
