Hey real noob here....I have a Beogram RX with an MMC3 cartridge.....friend gave me the deck probably because one channel (right) is dead, not my friend any more but I digress.  Fixing it has been on my to-do list for years....  Finally pulled it out of the closet.  So am I correct in assuming that this is a cartridge issue one, and two am I correct in thinking that the cost to replace or rebuild the cartridge exceeds the value of the deck even in working condition?  Finally if it is worth the cost to replace the cartridge is it better to buy one used/rebuilt or have mine rebuilt?

I would check the signal leads first.
They are known to break internally about an inch from the RCA plugs.

Okay thanks....bear with me....how does one test for this breakage and can the leads be replaced without a degree in electrical engineering?
