Hello,
I have inherited a Beosound 4 from My sister and her husband who died from cancer three weeks apart this spring. When i power up the system I am told to enter a PIN code.
Since both my sister and her husband is gone, No one knows the pin code. the label with the serialnumber inside the footstand is gone.
Is there a way to read out the serial number so that I can get the PIN code?
Or is there a mastercode that can be entered to override the PIN? I am thinking that if the unit would be sent for repair the repairshop should have the oppertunity to override the pin?
The strange ting is that the unit works if i just ignore entering PIN and plays all type media, (Radio CD AUX). But If I power off the system I am prompted to enter the PIN Again.
I have been in Contact with B&O, but they only direct me to a B&O store. And the store need the serialnumber to give me a PIN Code.....
Could some one please help me, as this has an sentimental value for me.
This was the system me and my sister used when we sat and talked and lisened to music, up until a few days before she passed away.

No.Only B&O can provide the code.Take the product to a dealer, they will be able to read out the serialnumber or find it some other way, and you will need to bring the purchase receipt along as well or at least name, address etc. of the original buyer for B&O to check against their database. It's an effective anti-theft measure, as I'm sure you can see.
