Hi

Out of interest I am looking for information about the cabinet in the picture I have included. A type number and an item number

It looks like it has five drawers. It is in the red colour used from 2000-2003 in:

- BeoLab 1

- BeoLab 4000

- BeoLab 6000

- BeoVision 10-40 (cover). This BV10 was made from 2009-2012. That is 6 years after the other products stopped to be made in the red colour.

- more?

I have not found any information about the cabinet in the service manuals for the above mentioned products.

Was this type of cabinet made in other colours? Perhaps blue and green which were also stand out colours at the time.

What was the cabinet used for? The BeoSound 5 yes, but what else?

Thank you

I had a look through my brochures and cannot find a five drawer cabinet, let alone anything that colour!

It's difficult to be sure from the photo, but it could be a 'cabinet 2164 4-drawer cabinet' with a 'cabinet 2169' extension.

It's an official 5 drawer cabinet from Bang & Olufsen. The front is made of wood and painted and it features another drawer mechanism compared to the cabinet 2164.

I had one till last month in grey/silver with 5 doors. But I don't know the type number or when they where introduced.

I have the same cabinet in the same color. It was made to accompany the Avant CRT and came in the same lacquer finishes. Unlike the aluminum cabinets, it pivots on its base so that you can turn it to access the back for managing cables. Also, unlike the aluminum cabinets, the doors are loose and the hinges easily come off of their tracks. You must use both hands to open the doors.

BTW, the speaker cover in the BeoVision 10 in the photo is a custom job. The BV10 covers did not come in that color.

Interesting thanks.

For info, the photo actually comes from forum member razlaw - you can see his other photos here: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/members/Razlaw/files/default.aspx
