Dear members,

I'm sorry but I got another question. I own a Beovision AV9000 with integrated SAT receiver. I was trying to watch TV connecting it with an antenna cable (I don't have the opportunity to use SAT) but I didn't receive any signal. The previous owner always only used the SAT receiver. Do I have to make any changes or adjustments? I'm pretty sure connections are all ok. Or may not receiving any signal from the cable be due to a defect? Thanks once again very much für your help.

Rgds,

Kai

Short addition: may it be that I need some sort of converter to convert the probably digital signal received from the antenna cable to an analog one that can be used by the TV? If that was the case, it would be due to the TV having included the SAT receiver. Just asking since my old Beovision AV9000 didn't have the SAT receiver included and worked with antenna cable and absolutely no problems... Not sure whether I do phrase my problem appropriately.

Thanks,

Kai

I am sure you are correct - you have the analogue sat receiver built in. To be honest, the best thing to do is remove it and get a set top box. I have an AV9000 and use a Panasonic Freeview box with built in DVD and HDD. Works fine and will work with the Beo4 when used with the DVD controller.

Hi Kai,

I own an av 9000, and I didn't know that a sat modul existed for it.

I am afraid that if it is the case, you won't be able to use in an other way.

Thanks to the both of you for your answers. I also wasn't aware of an AV9000 existing with integrated SAT receiver - particularly since this is the early two-way version. I already had an AV9000 before without the SAT receiver built in and it worked without any problems. However, there needs to be a solution since the previous owner just told me that she had also used the TV with antenna cable in the beginning before switching to SAT a about 12 years ago. Thus, there needs to be a way of getting it going. My problem is that I can't install SAT in my appartment.

@Peter: what do you mean by remove the sat receiver? Physically removing would be too much effort for my taste since it's built in. Don't you think the TV will be working with the Panasonic without having to remove anything? Since I'm a quality junkie, which is the past way of doing it when it comes to picture quality? Is Pana good in that respect? Which model would you recommend?

Sorry for asking again. Thanks!

Rgds,

Kai
