Hi all. I have a Beogram 4002 linear track TT, and it was working fine a few months ago out in my shop. I brought it into the house yesterday, and now, when I hit "ON/<<" it starts ok, but then immediately stops and shuts off when I release the button. If I hold the button down, the platter turns fine, and it slowly moves across the record, just as it should. But as soon as I release the "ON" button, it comes back and shuts off.

My electronics experience tells me that this looks like the sensor isn't working. But it does this immediately after releasing the button. It doesn't even try to find the edge. Has anyone dealt with this symptom before?

Fortunately, I have the skills to dig into this, but was hoping someone could get me started in the right direction.

Thanks all;

Artie

Edit: I should point out that my workshop isn't air-conditioned, so it has been in Florida heat and humidity for several months.

Edit 2: The little light on the end of the sensor arm is working.
