Hi...

Anybody have any advice for the perfect replacement white melamine..? I have various 8000 Series units and would like to change one set from Rosewood to a white finish..? Including M150 Speakers...

Thanks, jay

Beomaster 8000 has panels that can be clipped on and off fairly easily.
All other 8000-products must have their cabinets replaced. That also goes for the Beovox models.

Hi Jay,

I hope you aren't changing the trim on perfectly good trimmed Beosystem components.  There are enough cabinets for those components around with damaged trim that would be better candidates for a color change. If you are located in the USA I can probably provide some replacement cabinets (except for the Beovox speakers) to trade out with. It would be a shame to change the veneer on a pair of MS150 speakers if the original cabinets are in good condition. Especially a first series MS150 that has rosewood on the back.

Hi Guys...

Sorry it seems as if I raised a B&O misdemeanour..!

I had seen someone do this in Europe (I think..?) He sprayed all the rosewood panels white and cut them back and continued spraying till it was smooth. The be fair the only spare 8000 units I have will all need veneer trim replacing, or repairing. As well as recapping, and other parts..! Not one is perfect... or working for that matter..!

A question whilst you guys are responding. How do you resurface the BM8000 Volume and tuner control wheels..? My other BM8000 has scratches on the wheels that are quite bad.

Thanks, jay

Years ago I had a 2 year old LX6000 TV that was gloss black from new. White was all the rage so Idecided on a re-colour and used white glossy Fablon sticky back plastic. That way if it went wrong or fashions changed it was easy to return to the original.

When I traded it in at the local dealer they could not believe it was not an original white TV.

Vinyls are more sophitictaed and advanced now so you will get an even better quality. You just have to look at vehicle wrapping to see the advances.
