I tried searching for answers the best I could, but could not come into any conclusion regarding spec differences and acronyms regarding old school Avant CRT models.

I have a chance to come in possession of an Beovision Avant model 1996 and 1997. Are there notable differences to them? The '96 model is titled 'Avant 100HZ', yet the newer model has no such declaration reagrding whether it has a 100 hz picture. It has, however, an added acc tag "DS". What does this and the "NIC" tag refer to?

Thank you for your help in advance.

(sorry for the large pictures)

The VTR NIC DS-version has some extra text on the label about Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corporation. So it is the sound company. DS could stand for Dolby Surround. But it is then Dolby Pro-Logic Surround.

NIC = NICAM (digital stereo on analogue terrestrial broadcasts; before Freeview)
