Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, but I want to share my experience with these speakers.

First of all, I use the 3 inputs available on the speakers, I have a pair in wired stereo mode, I got left and right channel without problems, the problem is a bad balance between the two speakers with the right channel sound more quietly and somehow different and not as good vocal presence, so I want to know if this can get solve or it's a common issue, also to be mention that this doesn't happen when the input is analogue 3.5mm, so with BT and USB inputs you got the unbalanced sound, no centred vocals and weird stereo imaging.

Some ideas that came to me where:

-Get myself a Beosound Essence to handle all the sources so the speaker take everything as an analogue input and I might need some special cables to do that.

-Add a Chomecast Audio and a selector like the Schiit SYS or an active preamp.

Some useful things that I can share are these:

If you use the Wired Input Mode, first make a reset, by holding the B&O button and the - Volume at the same time for 6 seconds until the LED flashes Red, then disconnect any wired input and make the Multiple Speaker sequence first in the master by press and hold the B&O button for 8 seconds or when the LED flashes Orange and then on the slave, res shortly the B&O button on the master to finish, and you get great sound and no delays. Comment: The Beoplay App no longer work for control volume when have this mode configured.

You can connect a wired input with a splitter to avoid the wired input mode and be able to control volume, but you're about to lose the seamless transition between inputs, so in order to get BT or USB stereo you have to pair the speaker via the app or with the sequence for True Wireless as said on the manual and also, with wired input the volume isn't synchronised and have to un pair the speaker first to work because True Wireless Mode disables the 3.5mm analogue input but you can chose the channel that play each speaker and also if you want 2 mono speakers instead.

Tone Touch can be use only with BT input for a single speaker in mono sound, and you should have configured it through the beoplay app first, then the profile is saved on the speaker regarding the device is playing. All other modes or inputs can't use this equalization.

You can connect a Turntable with a phono stage built in or one with external phono stage directly on the input of a pair in the wired stereo mode or Multiple Speaker Mode as the manual called it, you get real stereo sound out of it, but just with 2 speakers, is you add another one, then all became mono.

As and Advise the space between the input and output jacks is small, so you must select carefully a good pair of cables to use with sim plug covers like the ones from SoundsHeavenly. Currently I have AudioQuest Evergreen cables, but they don’t fit so I add 2 right angle 3.5mm adapters to fit the right.

Firmware version on my S3’s is 9.3.6, the latest as far as I know.

I’ve tried a lot of things with these that can be hard to cover, for example with an android phone if you connect the BT and USB inputs and play music you get the sound of the tow inputs which is weird. But if you have question or suggestion for experimenting with them mi. open, also I hope someone can solve my doubts of the problem with the strange stereo imaging.

Hi Omar,

Welcome to Beoworld!  Thanks for your very helpful post about these great little speakers.  I have a range of very thin minijack cables from the Hama factory that can fit into the tight space inside the S3 socket panel, so please ask if you would like any assistance with special cables to let these speakers work with an Essence, ChromeCast Audio or any other device and I will be pelased to help.

Kind regards, Steve.

Steve.
