Hello experts,

now that my BV 10-46 has served faithfully for almost 10 years, it is exhibiting the following problem:

At irregular intervals, the picture first freezes, and then fades over the course of seconds to a few minutes. The sound continues to run normally.

This error has been occurring for a few weeks, very infrequently at first, and the picture also came back spontaneously after a few seconds at first. Over time, the error occurs more and more frequently, and the picture does not come back until the device is switched off and on again. After restarting, it then runs normally again for minutes, sometimes even hours, but sooner or later it always occurs again, with increasing frequency.

I can rule out an error outside the BV, the problem occurs both when the signal comes from Technisat receiver via HDMI 1, as well as with the image from the Apple TV via HDMI 2.

Does anyone have a tip? I don't think I can fix much myself, but it would be nice if I could maybe give a technician a target-orientated hint for troubleshooting.I'm afraid that if I call one in, by Murphy's Law the picture will be just fine, and the error will reappear just when he's about to go away.

Thanks in advance,

Francis

I have a similar problem with my 11-46. Picture freezes for 5 seconds and then TV goes to standby. But will immediately power back on and function. The weird thing is it can go months with no problem and then fail multiple times in one night. There is just no pattern.

I have spoken to many people about this and have never got a definative answer but "dry solder joints" keep getting mentioned. You may have the same?
