Would a BeoGram 5000 work with a BeoCenter 9500? What remote control capabilities would I have? I've got a chance to pick up the turntable, minus cartridge, for practically nothing, but want to make sure there'll some control from link rooms first.

Yes, should work fine as should the datalink.

Agree - will be fine. You obviously don't have the ability to move the arm by remote, just start and stop and pause, but I am a firm believer in listening to albums as the artist intended anyway!!

I just picked it up this morning for $50. Plugged it in and it works just as you described. Thanks for the info! Now I just have to wait forever to get a SMMC4 cartridge from SoundSmith so I can actually use it.
