Hi Guys,
I hope one of the experts out there can help.
I have taken my Beosystem AV9000 out of storage (it was working perfectly before) I have connect it all up and now it works for about 5 minutes at first then turns itself onto standby. I can then only get it to work for a few seconds before going back into standby.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance
Toby
Hi Toby,
I have two BeoVision AV9000 my self, and I love them! The BeoSystem AV9000 is the most iconic system ever made IMO! The production of the BL6000 and BL8000 went on for about 20 years! The only thing I'm missing from a complete BeoSystem AV9000 is a pair of BL8000's and a MPAV9000 stand.
Back on topic:
When I bought my second AV9000, it had a similar problem, and it's actually a common fault for that range (The AV9000 is simply a fancy MX6000). In my case replacing C101 in the power supply cured the problem, but the exact problem I had, was that the TV wouldn't turn on at all. The fault you are describing is more likely caused by bad solderings in the power supply.
I wouldn't recommend, that you try to open the TV, if you aren't completely sure about what you are doing! The TV contains high voltages at about 27K volts, which can be life threatening! But if you have a soldering iron + a bit of solder, and know what to do, then it should be a pretty straight forward job. And always remember to disconnected the TV from the mains before you touch anything!
Feel free to ask, if you have any more questions.

Thanks Dennis,
Think that maybe a bit out of my league, but my father in law used to work with TVs so in the new year I will ask him to have a look with your advice and a copy of the service manual.
Thanks

Would you like to have the one with 2 or 3 shelfs?

I wasn't aware that they were available in two versions until now! But I just found a few pictures to confirm it! I'm actually not sure whether I want the original MPAV9000 stand or the later version:
I'm a bit afraid, that the shelves on the MPAV9000 stand just are going to be dust collectors... And the bottom plate on the later version suits the AV9000 a bit better design vise.
