On my BeoVision 7-40 MKV the standby indicator has started to flash continuously. The light blinks twice every second. Apart from that the TV works fine. What is this and how can I make it stop?

That would normally indicate it needs a PIN code - but if you are saying the TV works fine then it must be something else?  Have you tried unplugging it from the mains power for a little while to see if that resets it?

Yes, unplugging had no effect.

I have no technical suggestion, but if the bv is working perfect otherwise I would be tempted to tape over it. It would niggle me to have this problem but I would leave it alone until the warranty is due to expire.

Newcastle, thanks to your suggestion I tried to keep the TV unplugged long enough to provoke it to ask for PIN code. After that the standby indicator lights as steady as should be.
