Hey fellow Beonerds,

I am looking for a solution for my Beovision 3 28's behavioral problems ;-)

She started to have a mind of her own with randomly switching herself on from standby. First thought was interference from my other BV in a different room while using the Beo4 remote, but have debunked that one. Other thought was a problem with the remote in the BV 3's room, but even without batteries in the remote she starts up randomly. I can switch her off again with the remote, but after an hour or so, she decides to turn herself on again. Everything else just works perfectly fine., I'm starting to think the house might be haunted ;-) LOL

If any of you have any idea, I would love to hear from you.

Thanks,

Padrig

Hi

Sounds a strange one. Have you checked the timer menu. Maybe something is set up there that you were not aware of.

Next is there anything connected to the TV ? ( set top box, DVD recorder for example). Is there a chance one of those is coming on somehow which is triggering the auto start on the TV?

Last suggestion, have you disconnected the set from the mains for a while? If not try this ( half hour should be ok) but make sure you have the p.i,n to hand before you do.

Graeme.

Do as already suggested. I have an older Beovision that switches itself on if we have a slight power 'blip' in the supply to the house. It's the only one in the house that does it, but it is also the only TV which is automatically triggered to turn on if the STB it's attached to is turned on first.

You could have some sort of false triggering effect causing it.

Thanks for the answers.

I have a STB connected via the stb controller but even if the Vision startsup, the STB remains in standby mode. Checked the timer, but this one is switched off. I will be trying the power disconnect and will see what happens. Can a WiFi signal cause a kind of remote signal? I have recently purchased a Canon Pixma printer with WiFi...
