Hi all,
I recently bought a Beo6, and now I'm working on a configuration for my Samsung Smart TV UE46D8000.
I've come a long way, starting with the Samsung Plasma TV XML from this site, thank you very much for this. I am however missing a few functions, that have been added to the more recent Samsung LCD TV's.
The functions/buttons I'm missing in the existing Plasma TV XML are:723 007 007 159 096 000 000 3d723 007 007 037 218 000 000 ad_subt.723 007 007 063 192 000 000 e_manual723 007 007 045 210 000 000 exit723 007 007 079 176 000 000 guide723 007 007 062 193 000 000 p.size723 007 007 088 167 000 000 return723 007 007 115 140 000 000 search723 007 007 121 134 000 000 smart hub723 007 007 100 155 000 000 social tv723 007 007 075 180 000 000 tools
Can someone please explain/help me how to convert the above (or pronto which are also available) codes to Beo6 XML?
Thank you very much in advance, kind regards,
Joost

Joost,
The commands you have listed are for Lintronics, it would be better to convert from Pronto HEX codes as you say you have them.
Regards Keith....
Thanks for your reply. Will post them as soon as I'm back from holidays.....
Kind regards Joost
Dear Keith,
I have added the pronto hex codes for the Samsung Smart TV functions that are currently missing from your Samsung Plasma TV XML.
Can you please explain to me how it's best to have these codes converted to XML that can be imported into Beo6?
Thank you very much in advancekind regards,Joost

Please find attached an XML file I have produced from your Pronto HEX codes supplied.
Extract the zip file to C:\ will automatically put the XML file into the correct directory of the B&O Configuration Tool
Please test and provide feedback..
I'm affraid it doesn't work.Importing the XML works fine and adds a new device to the Beo6, but the TV doesn't respond to the commands.
Comparing the stIR strings, it appears the new non-working strings have around half the length of the other working strings?
Well, I guess the Pronto HEX codes you found are not for your TV which almost certainly means the address code is different.
Over the years I have posted several Samsung TV XML files and most use a different address code. Which one did you use that works, if I know that then I can decode one of the commands and determine the correct address ?
Hi Keith,
Thanks for the effort you put into this.
The working XML i got from this site, I think you have made it. It's called Samsung Plasma TV and contains all working codes, except that it's missing the mentioned 11 functions for the Smart TV Range...I got the Lintronics codes from the Lintronic website, The Pronto Hex codes from remotecentral.com. Protocol is claimed to be NecX2.
I'm affraid I don't understand the matter enough to give more information.
Regards,Joost
I have compared the two and I can see that their address is exactly the same. However, the reason it does not work is that the last binary digit is missing from each command of the Pronto HEX commands as you will see below.
The address is the first 16 binary bits after the start bit
Long time ago I produced this *.xml -File for my Samsung UE558790.
maybe that works for you.
Hi Miniac,
Thanks. This helped me a lot. Your XML contains six codes I didn't have next to some nice discrete codes for Power On, Power Off and HDMI.
I'm now still missing RAW codes for:GuideReturnSearchSocial TVE-Manual.
I attached the XML I have created so far. I'm actually quite pleased with it. Works very well where the layout of buttons resembles the original Samsung remote as much as possible. Due to the Power On and Power Off codes I could realise the TV switching on at the push of 'TV', just like a B&O television.
I will publish an update as soon as I have the missing codes. This is as far as I can come right now. Tips on obtaining the missing codes are still welcome...;-)
I took your Pronto HEX codes converted them and then added the missing binary digit at the end of each string to give what I am hoping will now be the correct codes.
I have checked them on the scope and they appear to be correct, but please test them and get back to the forum.
They are all working now! Thanks a lot!
I attached the 'final' version of the remote for the Samsung Smart TV. Really great,
I am pleased that it is all working now..
I have used this XML on my Beo5.
It is comprised of 3 screens. The first works flawlessly inclusive of 'wheel' buttons.
The second and third screens are not usable as ALL the screen options are piled on top of each other created a garbled set of text in the center of the screen. It seems as if some layout parameters to spread out the screen options do not work...
Anyone had similar issues?
You are right the XML provides three screens for the Samsung Smart TV. It's nice the IR-codes work, but I'm sorry to learn the XML doesn't work 100% for a Beo5. I spent a lot of time creating a grouping of buttons which is both logical and also resembling the original remote as much as possible. But I only have a Beo6 to test and they have a different screen layout....
I used an example for an empty XML from the Beo5 Configuration Guide from this site as a basis for the XML. This gives you the possibility to specify both x and y coordinates and relative positions for a button (row and column). It's not clear to me exactly what the difference is, and which you should use for a Beo5 or Beo6. Please do some experimentIng with this and let us know the results.
regards Joost
.
I think the source of the problem lies in that the Beo5 has a screen resolution of 234x960 whilst the Beo6 has a 320x240.
No I will have to start the painstaking process of adapting the XML.
