Hi everybody,
I've just received a Beolink 5000 with pixel errors in the display. The seller informed me about the error and I didn't spend a lot of money. However, the remote has hardly (if ever) been used. So it's sort of strange that there still is a defect. It seems like some columns are missing. Result still is that the display is hardly readable. The glass seems to be perfectly in place but still the error is occurring. Any ideas what the cause may be? Can this be fixed or is it as usually with the Beolink 5000 the case hardly - if at all - reparable?
Thanks for your guesses.
Rgds,
Kai
They tend to do that. Unfortunately there's not much hope, as spare parts are no longer available and I don't think anybody has managed to fix the displays.

I was afraid to hear something like that. Remote looks new but display nevertheless is not working. Pity. Thanks anyway.
Best,
Another question that came to my mind after testing the remote again yesterday. When I do get information on loudness the track number on the display, does this necessarily mean that it's working in two-way mode? Thsi would imply that my Beolink 7000 got a defect since it's not giving me that information...
Thanks.
What sound system do you have? If the track info on the Beolink 5000 actually updates when a new track begins (without you doing anything), it's working in two-way mode.
The Beolink 7000 needs to be configured to two-way mode to actually work as such. If it has the typical defect, it should still say "no contact" on the display in two-way mode when you try to operate with it.
Thanks. I'm using a Beosystem AV9000. The Beolink 7000 says No Contact. But this may also be caused by the Beocenter not sending any signal, doesn't it? I have to check whether the Beolink 5000 is automatically updating track numbers once I'm back home...
As long as volume can be seen on BL5000/7000 your remote works 2-way!
