The question will always be, what is it worth? Frede can refurbish your cubes for you and has a supply of drivers but is not in the market of supplying parts. I notice Leslie seems to have a box full as well! Smile

Hi Peter

Yes I have contacted Leslie and he will kindly restore the speakers but it was the shipping costs to get them to him and back that made it to much for me, shame as seeing his work hes a restoration master, the speakers are working but not all the drivers, I would have a go of cosmetic restore but just needed to know if there is similar drivers that could replace the old ones.

They are a fairly odd driver and finding something similar will be tricky. Not that many good 2" cones around these days!

Denmark - he is a perfectionist - Classic Audio. Expensive but worth every penny. A number of us have Frede systems!

Send them to Frede.  He did a fantastic job on mine - better than new.  The cost was as below in 2010 for mine but he quotes for each job after an assessment:

This price includes The full restoration of the product – mechanical – electrical and cosmetic Filter parts replaced – and the speaker cones are coated Cable and plugs replaced with high quality parts Classic Audio test certificate for the Beovox 2500 Cube Normal products repair

This price does not include: Major product fault Replacement of cabinet parts – like the speaker cover Missing parts Danish VAT (25%) Shipping cost

Classic Audio will be working on your Beovox 2500 at least 8 hours and test time is more than 100 hours before delivery.

Remark:

Classic Audio can replace any part you may request of your Beovox 2500 Cubes

Examples:

95% of all Beovox 2500 Cubes are scratched or have other cosmetic problems.

Repainting in the original colour (pair) Cabinet block and all speaker covers --------------------------------- 2200.- DKK

About 25% of the speakers in a Beovox 2500 Cube are burned or the cone is destroyed.

I have seen some of fredes work on other threads it is also fantastic, if things change for me money wise i won,t hesitate to get my b&o gear to you guys. Just a thought I have a spare working Beomaster 5000 tuner also a beocentre 3600 with mmc 3000 stylus in box if either could be used as trade.
