Can I use the masterlink to send video & sound from my freeview STB connected to my BV 8-32 to my BC 6-26 , so my child can watch a program while I watch a DVD on my BV 8?
Yes, I *could* buy another STB for my BC 6-26 but if i have the masterlink system, why not use it?
I havent really got into the masterlinking yet so this is a learning curve. I'm not sure what the limitations are.
Thoughts welcome.....
Masterlink cable carries stereo audio and data (remote control signals) but no video signal. In addition to your masterlink cable you would also need an aerial cable connected to the RF output of the BeoVision8 to the BeoCentre 6.

Thanks Opman,
Can you watch a DVD on the BV tv , but let the STB video run to the other tv? I was thinking it might be possible given the DVD is coming in through HDMI.
I'm still learning how beolink/masterlink works so please bear with me - does the BV 8 replicate the currently viewed program ( e.g. DVD ) on all outlet sof the tv, or is it smart enough to produce the beolink output only on the RF output and if so , how would you control what appears on the RF output please?
Would anyone mind telling me how to set it up please? Do you need to turn on masterlink on both tvs using the Beo 4 remote or does it just sense the masterlink cable and enable masterlink automatically?
I also noticed in some masterlink handbook talk of "option 1 " and "option 2 " etc.I've had a look at it, but am not sure what steps I'd take to configure each tv accordingly.
On the BV 8 I have a DVD1 , pay tv and a freeview STB connected.
On the BC 6-26 nothing yet.
Sorry for the large number of questions, steep learning curve.,...
Any suggestions/help most welcome.....
The BeoVision8 32 would be configured as your "Video Master". This needs to be in option1. The BeoCentre6 will be your "Link TV" and needs to be in option 5.
Once correctly set up you can watch DVD1 or Freeview via STB on the BeoVision8 whilst at the same time watching either or both sources on the BeoCentre6. All remote commands control each set respectively as the option programming tells the sets which is the master and which is the link TV.
Option programming is done via the Beo4 remote control. Holding stndby & list together brings up "ADD?" on your Beo4. Press the list button several times until "OPTION?" appears. In the main room press "1" and the red LED should blink to confirm that the BeoVision8 has accepted the command. Next go to the link room and repeat process but when you get to option, this time press 5. Again, the stand by light on the BeoCentre6 should blink.
It's been a while since I set up a system so apologies if I have forgotten anything. I'm sure others can chip in if required.

BV8 should be option 2. BC6 in option 6...
Option2 would be used if there was an audio master which would in turn require the link TV to be in option 6 but as no audio master has been mentioned I suggested Option 1 & 5 respectively. Either would work though but was trying not to confuse the issue
