Hi
I'm new here, so please bear with my un-knowledgeable descriptions.
I recently bought a 70's Beocenter 3500 from the Dreaded Ebay, got it home, and when I initially tried it, it appeared to be fine,( at this point I should say I've only tried it with the Radio so far, as it needs a new belt ), but now it seems to have developed a problem where it will only play through the the Right (as you look at it ) channel on both sets speaker outputs.
It doesn't appear to be anything to do with the speakers, 3702's, as I have tried both, through both inputs.
I have to say that all my knowledge of Pre CD music systems is very rusty, as I got rid of all my gear years ago, but decided I'd buy a system that I had lusted after when I was young, but I've never come across a problem like this before.
Any help would be very gratefully received

Welcome to Beoworld !
First thing would be to excersize all switches a couple of times.

Indeed. My own Beocenter 3500 had a lot of contact problems, even the OFF switch had some resistance though its contacts initially.
Be careful not to start dismantling the switch bank, it is a nightmare to put back together!

Thanks for the advice, the thing is the left speaker seems to be trying to work, but it crackles badly, and I have to say the plugs don't seem to fit very tightly, but I was wondering if there was an internal component that drives the left channel outputs that might be failing ?
I think I've just managed to whittle it down to the fact it's actually the speaker rather than the system, as it seems to have an intermittent fault.
So the $64 Million dollar question is, how does on get into a Beovox 3702 ?, as I think it may be a connection inside the speaker, and as it looks like someone has already tried, and I hadn't noticed this when I bought it.
Is there some esoteric means of getting inside ?, something like "Open Sesame" maybe ?, because it looks like the Fort Knox of Speakers to me
Work your way around the clothed front panel with a wide spatula.Lift up gently, little by little, around the circumference a couple of times and it will come off.The aluminum trim stays put.Unscrew the woofer and go in through its hole.
Glue the front panel back on with a couple of dabs of contact glue. Don't use too much glue or it willbe very difficult to get in another day.
Many Thanks for that Martin, I'll give it a go tomorrow, it's just unfortunate that someone has tried to remove the front by trying to take the Aluminum trim off, so now it has a 1-2 mm gap.
Just one more thing, if I may ask, I have a Beogram 1200, that I just pulled out after years in storage, how do I remove the deck ?, doe it just pull off as I've tried and there appears to be quite a bit of resistance.
But Many Thanks again everyone, I really appreciate it
