Hi,

as I broke the forum-rules in my first post, I will try to not do it again :-)

I need advice. I want a nice vintage set for my living room and it should be placed on the wall. I thought a pair of Beovox P30 white speakers would be nice to find (any better wall solutions?) and I need the not to big Beomaster that could be wallmounted too. The decision is to buy BM1200 or BM1001 white (do you have any other suggestion?).

I found this one:

The question is: is it too expensive?

What is your experience with BM1200/BM1001? Is it the good sounding Beomaster?

Many thanks in advance.

I think that is quite expensive - what about a Beomaster 1900 or 2400 - you can wall mount these and they are a very smart looking receiver. They are also the right era for the P30s, though I would look for P45s instead as, having had both, the P45 is much better!

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your advice. Hmmm, Bm 1900 and Bm 2400 are both interessting but I prefere the look of 1200/1001. Maybe I should see those 2 live and hear them to. Are they technically beter? Do they sound beter as bm1200/1001? With the speakers you are probably right. I should find p45. Are the p50 also good?

The P50 and P45 are very similar. The 1200 is a good looking but not great sounding receiver. It does sound much better through Beovox 1200 speakers though. If you like the look of the 1200, maybe look at the BM2000 or 3400 which are similar in design but which have much better performance. Or maybe the BM6000 quad!

As the Peter said maybe you should try to find BM2000. You can find it for sure for less as this BM1001 and it is really very good sounding receiver. The only issue is that the BM2000 is almost double so large as BM1200 or BM1001. But if your decision is fixed and you want only BM1200 or BM 1001 you can pair it with Beovox 901 or 1001 to. These are also wall mounted models and can be also found in white color (you mentioned the system should be white). They are not so big as P45/50 but also not so good sounding. The Beovox 800 or Beovox 1600 are also not ot big, wall mounted and good sounding but I think these were not colored white...

And obviously  there is a story about this expensive white BM1001 from Greece. But this is another topic...
