Hi,

I've just read Peters description of the BC9500 and agree with him it is beautiful and sound quality is great. Anyway, he mentioned the DAC in the CD Player as the TDA1541. A while ago I was looking for a suitable cheap DAC for my AE aned came across a MUSE one that uses 4 x TDA1541 chips - I have to say that plugged into the AE using the digital out and then into my BS3000 the sound quality is phenomenal, it has literally breathed life into my Penta II's. It was only £60 new on ebay and is probably the best value for money I have ever spent.

The overall sound is more analogue and warm with a lot of detail, excellent vocals and you can place instruments and singers - it would probably be a brilliant discrete addition to a vintage system. I'm no expert and only found this by research, I also haven't heard any others to be fair, other than the cheap cheap one it replaced

There are numerous reviews of it all over the place on the internet, but thought I would share my experience in case it was of any use to anyone else.
