Hi guys,

I just purchased a pair of beolab 3 to replace my BL4000.

I setup one of the BL4000 as center speaker for the beovision, but i would like to have it go a bit louder. In the beovision menu, I can setup the volume of the sub (actually a BL11) and the right-left speakers, but nothing about the center speaker (just have a manual or automatic option for the center speaker)

Any ideas or comment ?

Thanks

Eric

Hello Eric,

I was too surprised when I see the sound menu of the bv 7.40, We have even no possibility to choose only front speakers without any center speaker.

Strange

4 beolab 5,  beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2,  2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...

Choosing only the front is working via the speaker mode selection.

If I choose speaker mode 2, I just have front and sub. With speaker mode 3, I have front, sub and center.

If you can adjust the left/right speakers, then why don't you just turn them down, so the center appears louder?

Thanks Eric for the tip.

Only front sepaker should be the first choice.

4 beolab 5,  beolab 9, beolab 10, beolab 5000, beolab 8000 mk2, beolab 6002, beolab 3500, beovision 7 55 mk2,  2 beovision 11 46 mk4, beotime, beosound ouverture, beosound essence, beoplay A8, beomaster 900 RG de luxe and the collection continues...

Sometimes, we are so sticked to our ideas (push up the volume) that we don't see there is a onother way, more simple !

I will check that this evening, But I am afraid the volume control of front speakers is just the initial volume when turning on the BV7, not an independant volume control like the one of the subwoofer.

Thanks anyway for the idea !

I hated this lack of option and always wanted more sound from the centre ie vocals. I got round it by telling the speaker distance that it was say 8 metres away when it was really 3 for example.

I have the same issue with my 10-46 mated to some 6000's. I turn up the volume to hear speech clearly and then get deafened when the 6000's explode into action.

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

There is a way to adjust the volume...

Just alter the distance between TV and listening position in the menu..

Let the BV7 "think" you sit far away and you will hear a gain in volume...

Best regards

Stephan

Thanks to all for the hints, I will test the speaker distance this evening.

I thought this distance settings was more a unusefull gadget, but maybee I will change my mind.

Will changing the distance not introduce some kind of sound delay to the left/right speakers?

I don't know how the systems works, but i would just imagine that altering the distance would change both volume and introduce a level delay, so that it would match the left/right speakers.
