As promised, here is my restoration process for redoing the Form 1 headphones I picked up for less than $50 on eBay.

Part 1: Headstrap

When I first received them they were in typical condition. The head strap will falling apart and the foam pieces were long gone.

I began with replacing the strap. The pieces of leather I used were from BMW seats that had been dismantled.

This is what the strap holding clip looks like

The new strap needed four holes similar to this:

I created a pattern from the old strap and began cutting

Then I set to work on the foams that touch the ear. They were like these (telephone foam pads for hearing disabled)

I felt that the foam would provide a comfortable surround and allow the sound to be uninterrupted in getting to my ears. My only complaint, as you can see in the photos is that the foam is charcoal grey instead of black--only a minor complaint).

Part 2: Foam Pads

I began cutting the telephone ear pads and was able to get them to look proper.

For the above ear pads I felt it would be best to cut them from a block of foam. Using some Industrial Design prototyping skills, I used spray adhesive to stick several large earphone pads together, after cutting off the 'lip' that usually slips over the back of the driver casing.

I then used scissors to trim down the cylinders of foam in proper sized blocks (the measurements can be found on other Form 1 posts)

Part 3: Completion

Once I had completed the two stages the headphones were ready for use. They have held up well over the past week as I've used them almost a dozen times. The sound is simply phenomenal (they blow my Form 2's right out of the water).

Well done - very impressive result. I agree - I think they are the best of the existing B&O headphones - interesting to see how they compare to the H6.

I like my A1's but cannot comment on how they compare to other B&O.

Well done on the restoration.

Measurement thread here.

Thank you both for the positive feedback, I am slowly getting more competent in working on B&O.

Well, it's a disease, so tread carefully.
